CONDITION AFTER STROKE
The rehabilitation of patients after stroke is a very complex and demanding process that should start as early as possible, and that means, but the departments where they performed acute care patients.
The intensity of the treatment depends on the patient’s condition and the degree of deficit.
It is very important before treatment to determine level of deficit (motor and / or sensory deficit, intellectual impairment, aphasia, agnosia, apraxia, mood and motivation, visual excesses…) and plan the individual rehabilitation program.
The rehabilitation team consists of a medical specialist (physiatrist), physical therapist, speech therapist and occupational therapist, and nurses – who are specialized and trained to work with people who have had a stroke.
